RAS has partnered with the United Way to offer a Freedom Schools summer reading program this year!  **Informational meeting - Thursday, March 26 at 6:00pm, 184 Salem Avenue**

Freedom Schools
provide a 5-week, safe, nurturing summer environment where scholars are valued, celebrated, and given opportunities to learn the pleasure of reading. Scholars improve their ability to read, connect to their culture, develop positive relationships with Servant Leader Interns (College Students), increase their self-esteem, and develop a positive attitude toward academic achievement. Additionally, scholars participate in community service and social action projects.

What Makes Freedom Schools Different?

Studies show 5-week summer learning programs can produce statistically significant gains in reading performance.  The CDF Freedom Schools ® concept is unique among summer enrichment programs because the mission is to create safe, nurturing, educational environments that set high expectations for all children.

Complete the attached enrollment form and submit it to the school office, or contact Ms. Mosley at 937-586-9756 if you need more information.

We are so happy to have made it into 3rd quarter with so many students showing improvement in their academic progress. Students who are being

Truancy: Students who have been absent from school and have been consistently late will be
reported for truancy. If you have received a letter from our Social Services Department, it is imperative that you address this immediately.
